Card Challenges: The Card Concept #28

Hello! I've been a little off the blogging grid for a bit with early February always being a busy time with birthdays & celebrations. I did have enough time to squeeze in a quick card that I gave my daughter for Valentine's Day which was inspired by The Card Concept #28 Challenge. I really loved the old vintage wood box and I couldn't stop looking at the pretty pink heart in the color scheme. I don't have too many rose stamp sets so I found a few delicate flowers and some foliage that reminded me of the table cloth on the bottom of the picture. The key to this challenge is selecting your style and I would once again go with, Clean and Layered. For really not knowing what I would consider my card design style, I'm starting to see a trend here.

Here is my take on the challenge. Again focusing on that wooden box, pink heart and then the delicate pattern on the table cloth.

Thanks for popping by and Happy Card Making!

The Card Concept: Challenge #27 {LOVE}

What I like most about The Card Concept challenge is it helps you focus on a particular design style.  Once again I selected, Clean and Layered...although I think this might be getting closer to a Clean and Simple card. All of the stamps are from Studio Calico. I've never really used Alpha stamps on cards until I purchased the Kit Alpha stamp set (I used the Kit Alpha in this post too). This has to be my absolute favorite Alpha stamp and totally worth the $!

Here is The Card Concept: Challenge #27 {LOVE} Inspiration Photo:

And here is my take on the challenge: I attempted to create an ombre heart using three dye inks, I first tried some pigment inks but I couldn't get the crisp image I was looking for. I have to be honest...it took me four attempts to get that heart to look good :-) Then I die cut some mini hearts and carefully glued them into place. Not an easy task to get those hearts in "just the right" spot.

And here are all the supplies that I used to create the card design:
The Supplies
the tools: Mama Elephant Femme Frames & Embellished Tags Creative Cuts
the paper: Studio Calico, PTI Stampers Select White, Paper Source Paper Bag
the stamps: Studio Calico Kit Alpha and Stamp from Clarabelle
the color: PTI Raspberry Fizz & Pure Poppy and Memento Angel Pink
Thanks for Popping by and Happy Card Making!
