Mail 'em Out Monday: Upcycle, Reuse Card

Hello fellow card makers. Happy Mail 'em Out Monday!

In a previous post I created a card using the PTI Mini Blooms metal die and as I was creating that card...I ended up making the second card (two cards for one).

How did this amazing design reuse magic occur...Instead of breaking my die apart I kept it together...mostly so I wouldn't lose all the little pieces. When I cut my first set of die cuts I realized I really liked the negative so I continued to cut the rest of shapes to create the pattern on the card. Then I went into my scrap paper box (note to self to blog about my scrap paper box) and pulled old pieces of patterned paper from previously released Studio Calico card kits. Then I patched the scraps behind the negative cuts. I stamped into the leaf-like negatives and also on some leftover die cuts and positioned those into the die cut openings. Added a sweet little Thinking of You sentiment and there you have it a flat mailable card with added depth and dimension. I think this might be one of my favorite cards and not too bad for a piece of card stock that would have normally ended up in the trash bin.

Thanks for visiting and popping by!
